* The man faints.

* The baby keeps smiling. Kazeshini points his weapon to him.

* The baby walks to hug the blades of Kazeshini, but they're pulled away.

* He throws the baby away from his leg. It starts crying.

* Kazeshini grabs the baby by his shirt and hands him on the tree. The baby seems to like it.

* The baby starts crying as Kazeshini walks away. He stops.

* Haineko is laughing out loud. Kazeshini has the baby on his back. Houzukimaru is also laughing.

Houzukimaru: What's that brat doing on your back?

Haineko: You two look great together, Kazeshini!

* Wabisuke gets close.

* The baby pulls Kazeshini's scarf before he can move.

* The baby yawns.

* The lieutenants are talking nearby.

Kira: All of the Zanpakutou are talking about it. It's about your Zanpakutou, Hisagi-san.

* Kazeshini appears a few houses away, on the top of a roof. The baby is sleeping on his shoulder.

Kazeshini: Found them!

* Kazeshini looks at the baby and sighs. Kazeshini carefully places the sleeping baby on the top of the roof.

Kazeshini: Stay there.

* The baby rolls down the roof. Kazeshini catches him, hurting himself in the process. He looks around for another place to keep the baby. He sees a small house far away. He heads there and places the baby on the ground.

Kazeshini: Be a good boy and stay there!

* The baby smiles and drools, which makes Kazeshini chuckle.

* The Sword Fiends are attacking again. The lieutenants are chasing them.

Citizen: Help me!

Iba: Hold it! Freeze!

* Iba manages to cut one down.

Iba: You're not getting away!

* Nearby, Ikkaku tackles down another one.

Ikkaku: Jeez, you're a handful.

* The Sword Fiend runs off.

Ikkaku: You're a tough bastard!

* Kira fights with another one nearby. Hisagi is chasing another, but is ambushed by a second one, who manages to cut his shoulder in the same place he was cut by Kazeshini. Hisagi cuts one down and fights with the other.

* Kazeshini watches from a roof nearby. He prepares to attack, but hears the baby crying.

Kazeshini: Wh-Why now?!

* Kazeshini looks at the house, then to Hisagi, who's struggling against his opponent.

Kazeshini: This chance is too good to pass up!

* But he can't help surrounding to the baby crying and heads there. There seems to be a woman in the house.

Woman: There, there. Be a good boy.

* Kazeshini arrives in a hurry and sees the woman with the baby on her arms.

Kazeshini: Don't cry-- ... huh?

* The woman looks scared, thinking Kazeshini is an enemy.

Woman: Please show mercy!

* The baby drops himself from her arms, and crawls to Kazeshini.

Woman: Stop!

* The baby stops crying as he hugs Kazeshini's leg. The woman is surprised.

Kazeshini: Woman.

Woman: Yes?

* Kazeshini kneels down and places his weapon on the ground, and pats the baby's head.

Kazeshini: Were you going to run off with this kid?

Woman: I was. He was crying all by himself in here, so I...

* The baby waves to Kazeshini, wanting to jump on his back.

Kazeshini: I have a favor to ask. Take this kid--

* Kazeshini doesn't realize there's a Sword Fiend behind him. The woman screams as the Sword Fiend attacks with a katana, and Kazeshini blocks with his bare arm, which gets slashed.

Sword Fiend: You still around, Shinigami-dog?!

* The enemy is repelled.

Sword Fiend: All enemies must die!

* Kazeshini gets slashed on his back as he protects the baby from the attack. He quickly grabs his weapon and throws it, but the Sword Fiend dodges. The enemy grins and attacks.

Sword Fiend: You're mine!

* Kazeshini pulls the chain and the scythe comes back, striking the Sword Fiend on his back. Kazeshini gets the other end and stabs the enemy in the chest. He falls down and vanishes. Kazeshini pants. He remembers when he attacked Hisagi and he protected the civilians. Kazeshini thinks about it for a moment, and throws the baby at the woman, walking away.

Woman: Um...

Kazeshini: Take that brat and get out of here.

Woman: Uh?

Kazeshini: Just do it.

Woman: Okay!

* The woman runs off with the baby on her arms. The baby looks back at Kazeshini getting more and more far from him, and cries. Kazeshini doesn't look back.

Soul Society, Rukongai, Residential Area

* Hisagi wields Death Wind (Kazeshini) in Shikai mode.

* Hisagi manages to defeat the Sword Fiend he was fighting with after releasing his Zanpakutou. Kazeshini appears.

* Kazeshini wields Death Wind (Kazeshini) in Shikai mode.

Kazeshini: Yo! I've been waiting. You said you wouldn't finish our fight until I attacked you head on, right? Yeah.

Hisagi: Yeah.

Kazeshini: So where I am.

* They say together, "Reap."

* Hisagi looks down at the fallen Kazeshini.

Kazeshini: So will I turn into a normal Zanpakutou now?

Hisagi: That's right.

Kazeshini: When I turn into a normal Zanpakutou, what will we fight for?

Hisagi: We'll fight to protect someone.
